SRH has signed Jason Roy in 14th season of IPL

Former England opener batsman Jason Roy signs up with Sunrisers Hyderabad as replacement for Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh.

On March 31st 2021, Indian Premier League franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad has announced that it has signed up England opener batsman Jason Roy as replacement for Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, says he had made himself for the entire season for some personal reasons but reason is not so clear as per IPL report.

Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was not played in the last season of Indian Premier League got injured during the match and this year also made him unavailable for his team but Franchise has decided to go with Jason Roy, who was unsold in this season of IPL auction and Sunrisers Hyderabad have acquired him at his base price of INR 2 crores at a minimum price.

Recently he has played series against India in which he had performed very well which caught the eye of Franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad, as decided to go with him.

Jason Roy made his IPL debut in 2017 playing for Gujarat Lions and later featured for Delhi Capitals in the 2018 IPL edition out of which he has only played a total of eight matches and scored 179 runs including one half-century.

Mitchell Marsh has not made himself unavailable without any suitable reason only owing leave to his personal reasons. He has made his debut in IPL 2010 and played total of 21 IPL games but not played a memorable knock for his team.

Jason Roy showed decent form in the recent ODI and T20I series against India but was not able to convert starts. Sunrisers Hyderabad has picked one of the best batsman of this era as he his very destructive batsman. Hope this year will be good for this franchise as last year Delhi Capitals has stopped them to reached finals against Mumbai Indians.
