Kyle Jamieson was surprised and bit confused when he was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise by thinking how much is Rs.15 crores in New Zealand currency. He is the highest paid New Zealander and the fourth Highest in the Indian Premier League season 14th.

He said that he had a message from Shane Bond (Mumbai Indians bowling Coach and former New Zealand pacer) as auction was going on and he said, ‘how good is this’. He was little bit confused that time.

Kyle Jamieson has started career as a batting all-rounder, but in 2012, he was slowly converted to become a bowler under the tuition of bowling coach, Dayle Hadlee the brother Richard Hadlee. He made his T20 debut for his domestic Canterbury on 4 December 2016. In June 2018, he was awarded a contract with Canterbury for the 2018–19 season.
