England beat India by 8 wickets in T20I Series Opener

A blistering, stunning, magnificent knock was followed by a Jason Roy storm which led England to demolish team India convincingly by eight wickets in Narendra Modi stadium at Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Friday 12 March 2021.

The game started surprisingly for the hosts and commentators and for audience as well. As they got off to a worst possible start after England skipper invited them to bat first. India lost their top three batsman for just 20 runs inside powerplay and then unable to step up from there throughout their innings.

But anyhow Shreyas Iyer’s knock of 67 runs took India to the score of 124/7 but then the England destructive opening pair of Jos Buttler and Jason Roy completely took apart the Indian bowling attack in the powerplay overs, giving them no chance to get back in the game.

A 72-run opening stand that saw Roy hit a 32-ball 49 took England to a standing positions.  Jofra Archer has also taken 3 wickets and made a great start for England. Jonny Bairstow (26*) and Dawid Malan (24*) then finished off the game for England with 8 wickets and 27 balls remaining and take a lead by 1-0 in the five matches series.

Virat Kohli has admitted that Team India wasn’t aware enough on how to play and what to do on Motera pitch and also admitted that the wicket did not allow you to play the kind of shots you wanted to, there was lack of execution of some of the shots.
