15th of August 2020: Remembering Dhoni’s Retirement

On 15th of August, former Indian captain and cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni Announced his retirement from all formats of the crickets. 2019 World Cup was Mahendra Singh Dhoni last tournament as Indian Cricketer. Dhoni has announced his retirement with a video reel. Dhoni led Indian teams to many title wins like 2011 world cup, 2007 world T20 and many others like champions Trophy and Asia cup.

Dhoni has posted a video on the Instagram reels which contains iconic song on background “main pal do pal ka Shayar hoon” and captioned the post with decent manner.

Between these time, Dhoni played more than 300 ODIs with his highest score being 183 against Sri Lanka. Dhoni remains the only captain to win all the major ICC trophies. Also referred as “Captain Cool” by the people and known for his calmness and exquisite captaincy on the field. Dhoni has also won the world’s best finisher title. As the days over, he proved himself as the world’s best wicket-keeper. His Agililty and stamina behind the stumps gave India many breakthroughs.

He is also known for his confidence for opting for reviews leading to many naming the Decision Review System (DRS) as ‘Dhoni Review System’. In December 2014, Dhoni announced his retirement from the Test Cricket. In 2017, Dhoni handed Captaincy to Virat Kohli from 50 over Cricket. Under his leadership, India also managed to attain the number one ranking in Test-cricket.
